Juvenile records can only be sealed, expunction of records does not exist. Over the years the ability to have a juvenile’s records expunged has become less expensive, possible at a younger age and if some cases done automatically.
The ability to seal a juvenile’s records only apply to Indeterminate sentences, not delinquent findings and charges which result in a dismissal. For offenses that are punished as a Determinate sentence, juvenile record sealing is not possible.
